PoE How To Get All Atlas Points Passive

In Path of Exile (POE), there are a total of 132 Atlas points available to acquire on your Atlas skill tree. Here’s a breakdown of the various methods to obtain them all:

Map Completion Bonus (115 Points):

  • Core Method: This is the primary way to gain a significant number of Atlas points. Each map on the Atlas offers a completion bonus that grants you one point upon completing the map under specific conditions:

    • White Maps (Tier 1-5): Requires completing the map in Magic rarity.
    • Yellow Maps (Tier 6-10): Requires completing the map in Rare rarity.
    • Red Maps (Tier 11-16): Requires completing the map in Rare rarity with the map also being corrupted (using a Vaal Orb).
  • Prioritization: Focus on completing new maps you haven’t conquered yet to unlock these bonuses and expand your pool of available Atlas points.

Maven Questline (5 Points):

  • Engaging with The Maven: Several points are awarded throughout The Maven’s questline, which involves witnessing map boss fights with The Maven’s influence and completing her invitations.

Pinnacle Boss Encounters (6 Points):

  • Defeating Pinnacle Bosses: Each of the four Pinnacle Bosses (The Shaper, The Elder, The Eater of Worlds, and The Searing Exarch) grants one point upon their first defeat.

Endgame Invitations (6 Points):

  • Completing Invitations: Successfully completing endgame invitations like "The Uber Elder Awakens" or invitations associated with specific endgame bosses like The Maven or The Twins rewards an Atlas point.

Important Notes:

  • Atlas Progression: Acquiring all Atlas points requires significant Atlas completion and engagement with endgame content. Ensure you can comfortably run higher-tier maps before focusing on specific endgame invitations.
  • Alternative Methods: While uncommon, some divination cards offer Atlas points as rewards. However, this method is unreliable and not recommended as a primary strategy.

Here are some additional tips for maximizing your Atlas point acquisition:

  • Efficient Map Clearing: Prioritize clearing maps quickly and efficiently to optimize your time investment and maximize the number of maps you can complete per play session.
  • Shaping the Atlas: Utilize the Atlas shaping mechanics to focus your map drops on specific regions, allowing you to target specific map completions and Atlas point acquisition.
  • Bonus Objectives: Consider completing the bonus objectives on your map device (shown as checkboxes) when possible. These objectives can increase your map completion bonus chance, granting you an Atlas point.

By following these methods and prioritizing efficient map completion, engaging with The Maven’s questline, defeating Pinnacle Bosses, and tackling endgame invitations, you’ll steadily acquire all 132 Atlas points in Path of Exile and fully optimize your Atlas skill tree for maximum benefits.

Obtaining passive skill points

You can earn an Atlas passive tree point for each map in the Atlas by obtaining a map completion bonus.

You gain a map completion bonus for the first time under the following conditions:

  • For a white map (tier 1 to 5), you must complete a map of magic rarity.
  • For a yellow map (tier 6 to 10), you must complete a map of rare rarity.
  • For a red map (tier 11 to 16), you must complete a map of rare rarity while it also has the corrupted modifier (for example by using a Vaal Orb on it).

It’s currently possible to obtain up to 132 points:

  • 115 from obtaining all of the Atlas of Worlds map completion bonuses.
  • 6 Atlas Books of Skill received from Kirac for defeating the Pinnacle Bosses for the first time:
    • The Infinite Hunger
    • The Black Star
    • The Eater of Worlds
    • The Searing Exarch
    • The Maven
    • Uber Elder
  • 5 from the Maven’s first four Quest versions and the tradeable 10-boss version of Maven’s Invitation: The Atlas.
  • 6 from endgame Maven invitations:
    • Maven’s Invitation: The Formed
    • Maven’s Invitation: The Twisted
    • Maven’s Invitation: The Elderslayers
    • Maven’s Invitation: The Forgotten
    • Maven’s Invitation: The Hidden
    • Maven’s Invitation: The Feared

Spending and refunding passive skill points

Immediately after receiving Atlas passive skill points, the player has the opportunity to spend those points in the skill tree. If the player leaves the points unassigned, they can be spent later from the Atlas of Worlds screen.

As with the character’s normal passive skill tree, the player must spend refund points to remove previously-assigned passive skills. Earning refund points requires the use of an Orb of Unmaking, an item buyable from Kirac for 2 Orb of Regret each or randomly dropped during maps.

Once earned, these refund points can be used in any of the allocated atlas passive nodes. Refund points for the Atlas tree cannot be used to remove passive skills from the character’s passive skill tree, and vice-versa.
