Mortal Fragments are Advanced Vaal fragments.

1. The Mortal fragments are required to gain access to The Alluring Abyss, where the player can encounter a stronger version of Queen Atziri.
2. When put a Mortal fragement in the map device with a regular map, it adds 10% item quantity to that map.
3. If placed without a regular map, it opens a random Vaal side area(level 72 - 75).

The most common way to acquire them is to defeat Queen Atziri. Additionally, a set of 3  Sambodhi’s Vow divination cards can be exchanged for a random mortal fragment and a set of 3  Last Hope divination cards can be exchanged for  Mortal Hope.
