Before you can start farming Unique items, you need to unlock World TIer 3 (Nightmare difficulty). You can reach this World Tier by finishing Diablo 4’s main campaign and completing the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon at Kyovashad.
World Tier 4 (Torment difficulty) also drops Unique items with better stats and affixes. We recommend progressing toward this higher difficulty if you want to get the best Uniques possible.
Helltides are a great way to farm Uniques because Mystery Chests and all other Helltide Chests have a chance to drop Unique items. Elite mobs within the Helltide also have an increased +30% chance to drop an extra item, which means you have more chances at getting a Unique!
Prioritize Helltide Events because the chest it rewards at the end has a chance to drop uniques. You will also get Aberrant Cinders which you will need to open Tortured Gifts.
Mystery Chests should be your next priority as it drops the most items out of the other chests, which means more chances at a Unique item.
When you have opened all Mystery Chests, open the remaining slot-specific chests. Remember to kill all Elite mobs you encounter along the way when roaming the area for more item drops.
Aside from Helltide, we also suggest clearing out Nightmare Dungeons when farming Uniques. While difficult, these dungeons have plenty of high-level Elites and high mob density, making them excellent places for obtaining Legendary and Unique gear.
Nightmare Dungeons also have a +10% increased chance to drop Ancestral and Sacred Items, which means the Uniques that you get will be of higher quality. You get even more chances at Uniques because Elite mobs inside Nightmare Dungeons also have a +10% increased chance to drop another item, and clearing a Nightmare Dungeon has a +50% chance to drop a second Legendary.
