Caustic Ground deals chaos damage over time. It is a detrimental ground effect. The amount of damage per second inflicted by caustic ground depends on its source.

• The caustic bomb thrown by Undying Alchemists
• Certain zombies, which release caustic ground on death
• Infested Ursa and Vivid Weta release caustic ground on death
• Skill used by Ryslatha, the Puppet Mistress
• The Temple of Atzoatl with “poison themed” rooms such as Toxic Grove. Clusters of plants are randomly spread throughout the whole area, which release a Caustic Ground once stepped on. The amount of plants is determined by the respective room level (with higher room levels adding more plants).

4. List of Ground Buff & Debuff

A ground effect is the general term for a patch of terrain that has some consequence on characters or monsters positioned on it. Detrimental ground effects do not affect allies of the character that created them, while those ground effects created by monsters or the environment will not affect other monsters. The inverse is true for beneficial ground effects.

Characters and monsters can be affected simultaneously by different types of overlapping ground effects. Those of the same type do not cumulatively stack their effects. For ground effects that inflict damage, only one of each type with the highest damage per second will cause damage at any given moment.
