PoE Funerary Altar

Within the eerie depths of the Viridian Wildwood, Funerary Altars stand as enigmatic testaments to the rituals of those who once dwelled there. Each altar offers a powerful blessing, but one that comes with an equally potent curse.

Here's what you need to know about these captivating and challenging encounters:

Appearance:

  • Funerary Altars are visually striking, adorned with animal motifs and surrounded by ethereal wisps of energy.

Interacting with the Altar:

  • Approaching a Funerary Altar will reveal the nature of its blessing and curse.
  • You have a choice: Activate the altar to receive the buff for the remainder of the instance, or leave it untouched.

Buffs and Curses:

  • Each altar grants a unique pair of buffs and curses, shaping your gameplay experience in both positive and negative ways. Some examples include:

**| Altar Type | Buff | Curse |
|---|---|---|
| Batrachian (frog) | 200% increased Flask effect | -50% to all Elemental Resistances |
| Cervine (deer) | 50% increased Damage | 50% increased Damage taken |
| Chiropteran (bat) | 100% increased Movement Speed | 50% less Attack and Cast Speed |
| Corvine (crow) | Remove all Armor | Always Vulnerable to Critical Strikes |
| Feline (cat) | Always Critically Hit | Always take Critical Strikes |
| Lemuroid (lemur) | 100% increased Damage over Time | 100% increased Damage taken over Time |
| Leporine (rabbit) | 50% increased Item Quantity | -50% to all Elemental Resistances |
| Murine (rat) | 300% increased Experience | -50% to all Elemental Resistances |
| Procyonic (raccoon) | -20% to all maximum Resistances | 50% increased Item Quantity |
| Ursine (bear) | Hits against you are always Critical Strikes | 100% increased Damage |

Strategic Decisions:

  • The choice of whether to activate a Funerary Altar depends on your build, playstyle, and risk tolerance.
  • Can you effectively mitigate the curse while capitalizing on the buff's benefits?
  • Are the potential rewards worth the potential hazards?

Wise Exiles carefully weigh their options before committing to the altar's power.
