Open a Breach. Simply walk through the hand-like structure to activate the Breach. Once activated, the Breach expands outwards in a circle, spawning monsters specific to the Breach type. The key mechanic is to clear the Breach monsters as quickly as possible. Faster clearing speeds make the Breach circle expand, revealing more area and spawning more monsters.
Defeat a Rare Beyond Monster. When a monster is killed in a Beyond-enabled instance, there is a 15% chance for a small red orb to appear on the ground. If four of these appear close to each other (roughly one screen), portals will open, spawning Beyond demons.
Defeat a Possessed Monster. A possessed monster is very common. The color is green. It always flies in the sky. You can find and kill him easily.
Complete an Expedition. The Core Mechanic: Explosives and Remnants. Once you've triggered an Expedition, you'll enter a special Expedition area. Your objective is to strategically detonate explosives to uncover hidden paths and encounter monster hordes.
The Deadly Deeds challenge in Path of Exile tests your ability to engage with various in-game encounters. Here's how to conquer each challenge:
1. Open a Breach:
Breaches manifest as swirling purple portals with a hand-like structure in the center.
Simply walk through the hand to activate the Breach.
Kill monsters within the expanding circle to keep the Breach open and earn rewards. The Breach closes if you neglect to clear monsters quickly enough.
2. Defeat a Rare Beyond Monster :
You can still trigger Beyond encounters using alternative methods like Beyond Scarabs or Atlas Passive Skills (unlocked after the campaign) in the endgame.
3. Defeat a Possessed Monster:
Possessed monsters appear in two ways:
Tormented Spirits: These purple entities possess any monster, granting them a buff and potentially changing their attacks. Look for the swirling purple aura around the monster.
Atlas Passive Skill: The "Seance" Atlas Passive Skill (unlocked in endgame) increases the chance for Rogue Exiles to be possessed.
Focus your attacks on the Possessed Monster. Defeating it vanquishes both the monster and the Tormented Spirit.
There are no special mechanics needed. Just use your usual combat tactics.
4. Complete an Expedition:
Expeditions aren't encountered during regular exploration. You can trigger them through:
Scarabs: Use specific Expedition Scarabs (e.g., "Legion's Carver Scarab") in the Map Device (unlocked after the campaign) to guarantee that Expedition in a map.
Logbooks: These are dropped by monsters in Expeditions or obtained from Dannik (vendor in your Hideout, unlocked later in the campaign). Logbooks contain a series of interconnected Expedition encounters.
Once activated, strategically detonate explosives to uncover hidden paths, trigger Remnant effects (positive or negative for monsters), and encounter monster hordes.
Prioritize Remnants that align with your goals (more currency, Logbooks, etc.) and target Runic Monster markers and chests when possible.
Remember:
Difficulty scales with your character level and map tier (if using a Scarab).
Expeditions offer valuable rewards like currency, Logbooks, and potentially unique items.
By understanding these mechanics and employing appropriate strategies, you'll be well on your way to completing the Deadly Deeds challenge in Path of Exile!
