PoE How To Make Kingmaker

In Path of Exile (POE), you can’t directly "make" a Kingmaker unique axe. However, you can acquire one through a vendor recipe. Here’s what you’ll need:

Vendor Recipe for Kingmaker:

  • Three Specific Items:
    • Soul Taker (Unique Two-Handed Axe)
    • Heartbreaker (Unique Two-Handed Axe)
    • Orb of Fusing (Currency item)

Steps to Acquire Kingmaker:

  1. Gather the Required Items:
    • You can find Soul Taker and Heartbreaker by defeating monsters throughout the game or purchasing them from other players through trading platforms like poe.trade.
    • Orbs of Fusing are relatively common currency drops and can be acquired from various sources like monsters, chests, completing maps, and trading.
  2. Vendor Interaction: Locate any vendor NPC in any town or hideout.
  3. Place Items in Trade Window: Drag and drop the Soul Taker, Heartbreaker, and Orb of Fusing into the trade window offered by the vendor.
  4. Vendor Offer: The vendor will offer a Kingmaker axe in exchange for the three items.
  5. Confirmation: Click the "Accept" button to complete the trade and acquire the Kingmaker axe.

Important Notes:

  • Corrupted Items Not Allowed: Ensure the Soul Taker and Heartbreaker are not corrupted (identified with a black text background) before using them in the recipe. Corrupted items cannot be used for crafting purposes.
  • Random Result (For Legacy Items): In older versions of Path of Exile (prior to Patch 3.6.0), the recipe might have offered a random result between Kingmaker and another unique axe, The Baron. This is no longer the case, and the current recipe consistently grants Kingmaker.

Kingmaker Mechanics:

Kingmaker is a unique Despot Axe that offers several benefits:

  • High Physical Damage: Provides a significant increase to physical damage for your character.
  • Increased Attack Speed (Minor): Offers a slight boost to your attack speed.
  • Culling Strike: Grants a chance to instantly kill enemies on low life.
  • Increased Item Rarity: Slightly increases the chance of finding rarer items from monsters.
  • Fortification (Nearby Allies Only): Provides a defensive bonus (increased block chance) to nearby allies who are also using a Kingmaker axe.

Kingmaker is primarily used in niche melee builds that can benefit from its combination of physical damage, culling strike, and potential party support through Fortification.
