Dead Silence: Persistent silent movement returns in the form of boots that can be equipped in one’s Loadout, offering stealth advantages to those seeking a low profile.
Dead Silence appears again in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. It silences the player's footsteps and reduces the effect of the Recon perk, from 12 seconds to six seconds. To unlock Dead Silence Pro, the player needs to earn 50 close range kills, similar to Ninja and Scrambler from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Dead Silence can be canceled out by SitRep Pro within close proximity. Dead Silence Pro negates falling damage, similar to Commando Pro from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Lightweight Pro from Call of Duty: Black Ops. This does not give the player the ability to survive kill zones disguised as long drops, including the well in Seatown and falling off Overwatch.
Dead Silence is a Tier 3 Perk available at Rank 55. It allows you to move around quietly. Also, if you were hit by a flash/frag grenade and the person who threw it had Recon/Pro, this perk reduces the effects of Recon from an arrow to a normal red dot. This is also a very good perk to use if you're in a lobby with a lot of people that have mics, as they can hear footsteps easier.
The Pro version of Dead Silence makes you immune to fall damage. Jump off the highest building in the world and don't get a scratch. This is the same as the Pro version of Commando Pro in Modern Warfare 2.
To Pro Dead Silence, you must kill 50 enemies at close range while using this perk. It's good if you had Blind Eye or Assasin on so infantry/air support won't detect you if you're hiding or "camping".
