MLB The Show 24 Speed or Luck or Both

Hit a triple. (Excludes simulated gameplay.)

The "Speed or Luck or Both?" trophy/achievement in MLB The Show 24 is all about getting your leadoff runner all the way to third base in one hit! Here’s how to achieve it:

Requirements:

  • In a non-simulated game, you need to hit a triple. This means hitting the ball far enough and with good placement in the outfield that allows your batter to reach third base safely in one play (without errors by the opposing team).

Strategies and Tips:

  • Power and Contact: You’ll need a good balance of power and contact hitting to achieve a triple. Aim for a line drive or a fly ball hit deep enough to reach the outfield wall or gap between outfielders.

  • Baserunner Speed (Optional): While not essential, having a baserunner with good speed can help ensure they can reach third base on a well-hit ball.

  • Situational Awareness: Look for an opportunity with a good pitch to hit. Ideally, this could be a fastball down the middle or a hanging breaking ball that you can elevate for a long hit.

Modes to Achieve This:

  • Exhibition: This is the most recommended mode. Set the difficulty to Rookie and choose a pitcher with a weaker arm. Focus on hitting line drives or fly balls with good power.

  • Franchise/March to October: Play through games and look for situations with a good hitter at the plate and a chance to hit a triple (based on the baserunner’s speed and the count).

Additional Notes:

  • Patience is key. You might not hit a triple on the first try. Keep playing and focus on hitting the ball well with good placement.
  • This trophy is a good test of your hitting skills and can be achieved through a combination of power and strategic hitting.

So, step up to the plate with focus, aim for a well-hit ball with good placement, and celebrate reaching third base for the "Speed or Luck or Both?" trophy/achievement!
