An animated Diablo Netflix Series has been confirmed to be in development. The series will use an anime style.

The series will be distributed by both Activision and Netflix. Andrew Cosby is the lead screenwriter.
Rumors of the series first surfaced in August 2018. In September 2018, Cosby confirmed that he was in “final talks” for the project. Cosby had previously commented that if he were ever to write a Diablo show, it would “definitely be rated R.” In March 2019, Blizzard Entertainment filed for a trademark for “downloadable films and movies featuring narratives based on a video game and provided via a video-on-demand service,” the video game in question being the Diablo series. At round about the same time, Cosby tweeted “It’s killing me that I can’t talk openly about my new super secret project, because my new super secret project is just so frikkin’ cool! Soon… very soon…”
In February 2020, Nick van Dyk, co-president of Activision Blizzard Studios, revealed through his LinkedIn profile that the series was in pre-production, and would be distributed through Netflix.
