Diablo 4 Lucky Hit Chance

Skills can trigger Lucky Hit effects. If a Skill has a Lucky Hit Chance of 50%, and an effect a 20% chance to Stun an enemy, then that Skill will Stun enemies on average 50%* 20% = 10% of the time.

Diablo 4 Lucky Hit Chance

Frost Bolt has 50% * 20% = 10% chance to Stun.

You are basically rolling the above two numbers. First one to see if you trigger lucky hit, then another one to see if you trigger the effect itself. Now if you don't have any lucky hit effects in your gear or skills, then nothing will happen.

D4 Lucky Hit Chance:

  • Increases the chance of triggering Lucky Hits with your Skills.

Bonus Lucky Hit Chance with an Active Barrier:

  • Increases the chance of triggering Lucky Hits with your Skills while you have an active Barrier.

Lucky Hit Chill:

  • You have a base {#} chance to Chill enemies when you damage them.
  • This probability scales with the Skill used and your Lucky Hit Chance Bonus.

Lucky Hit Daze:

  • You have a base {#} chance to Daze enemies when you damage them.
  • This probability scales with the Skill used and your Lucky Hit Chance Bonus.

Lucky Hit Execute:

  • You have a base {#} chance to instantly kill enemies who are below 35% Life when you damage them.
  • This probability scales with the Skill used and your Lucky Hit Chance Bonus.
  • Cannot activate against Champions, Elites, Bosses, or Players.

Lucky Hit Freeze:

  • You have a base {#} chance to Freeze enemies when you damage them.
  • This probability scales with the Skill used and your Lucky Hit Chance Bonus.

Lucky Hit Immobilize:

  • You have a base {#} chance to Immobilize enemies when you damage them.
  • This probability scales with the Skill used and your Lucky Hit Chance Bonus.

Lucky Hit Knockdown:

  • You have a base {#} chance to Knockdown enemies when you damage them.
  • This probability scales with the Skill used and your Lucky Hit Chance Bonus.

Lucky Hit Life:

  • You have a base 5% chance to heal {#} Life for every enemy you hit.
  • This probability scales with the Skill used and your Lucky Hit Chance Bonus.

Lucky Hit Slow:

  • You have a base {#} chance to Slow enemies when you damage them.
  • This probability scales with the Skill used and your Lucky Hit Chance Bonus.

Lucky Hit Stun:

  • You have a base {#} chance to Stun enemies when you damage them.
  • This probability scales with the Skill used and your Lucky Hit Chance Bonus.

Lucky Hit {PRIMARY_RESOURCE}:

  • You have a base 5% chance to gain {#} {PRIMARY_RESOURCE} when you damage them.

Diablo 4 Lucky Hit Chance

In Diablo 4 there’s a bunch of random on-hit effects you can trigger with any attack, which are called Lucky Hits. Lucky Hits come from many different sources: skills, passives, items, and Legendary Aspects. One example is a stat that can be found on weapons that reads:

Lucky Hit: Up to +X% Chance to Execute Injured Non-Elites

On top of this chance that you have mentioned in the effect itself every skill has a base Lucky Hit Chance, which is something we usually call proc coefficient in other games. This base Lucky Hit chance is multiplied by the chance listed in the Lucky Hit effect.

Important: To view base Lucky Hit Chance on Skills you need to turn on Advanced Tooltips in Settings.

Finally we have a +% Lucky Hit Chance stat that can roll on Rings, Gloves, and Wands (Sorcerer only). All these rolls are added together and they act as another multiplier to your Lucky Hit Chance.

Example

Lets say you have the following stats on your items:

  • Weapon: Lucky Hit: Up to +5.0% Chance to Execute Injured Non-Elites
  • Ring: +10% Lucky Hit Chance
  • Gloves: +5% Lucky Hit Chance

And let’s say you’re hitting an Injured (less than 35% HP) enemy with Forceful Arrow skill, which has a 50% Lucky Hit chance. In that case your actual chance to execute this enemy is:
