The Burning Hells, otherwise referred to as the Underworld, Netherworld, or simply Hell, are the birthplace of demonkind and the opposing realm of the High Heavens. All demons have their point of origin here and if struck down, will reform in time, namely from the Black Abyss.

Hell will be explorable in Diablo IV.

Formally known as “The Burning Hells”, Hell was created from the corpse of the great and terrible seven headed dragon Tathamet at the end of their battle with Anu at the beginning of creation. The realm of Hell itself rose forth from the remains, and from each of Tathamet’s heads, rose a Lord of Hell – each representing an aspect of evil. Hell is a sweltering and noxious place with lava flows and sulphurous fumes, and the realm is constantly in flux due to the influence of the Lords of Hell.
