Item acquisition

Chains of Emancipation has restrictions on where or how it can drop. It cannot be chanced. Chains of Emancipation drops from Freidrich Tarollo, Slave Merchant, the boss of Contract: The Slaver King.

Mechanics

Temporal Chains is inflicted for five seconds on a hit against you. The hit must be from an enemy or environmental effect; you cannot curse yourself by hitting yourself with e.g. Boneshatter or Scold's Bridle. Rotblood Promise is an alternative way to apply and remove Temporal Chains to yourself that doesn't require being hit.

A flask of Warding is a simple and reliably way to lose Temporal Chains quickly. However, it cannot remove the map curse of Temporal Chains, and that persistent curse will prevent you from receiving the temporary one from a hit. In this scenario, the only way to trigger the Rage gain is to temporarily become immune to the curse using e.g. Holy Flame Totem or Kiara's Determination.
